Having moved our home venue from Nescot to Old Haileburians this was our second first home game of the season. Given that our first home game saw the Youth's first defeat, all involved were hoping for a return to winning ways. Sadly that was not to be as again we saw a real nailbiting 2 - 3 defeat. After the first few minutes we were constantly under pressure from a very good Nutfield side who produced some good football. Between our defender andand goalkeeper we managed to keep Nutfield at bay and settled into the game. A great game of football was played by both teams and the passing was really encouraging to see. Late into the first half we conceded 2 goals but all was not lost as the Sam Tidbury got us on the board with a great strike before half time. Early into the second half Nutfield conceded a free kick just outside their area, and Oliver Baldwin stepped up to take. He got some great height on his shot which looked destined to go in, however Nutfields keeper made a great save but could only parry the ball to the ground where Ollie Cook pounced and levelled the game up. For much of the second half there were countless attempts from both sides until and unfortunate pass out to the wrong player resulted in a great shot and a good goal. I would like to take this opportunity to say that Seth Kirkwood and Sam Tidbury both played fantastic games today and Sam was named as Man of The Match which was thoroughly deserved - Well done Sam and keep up the good work!!
