The verdict:
An own goal in the opening couple of minutes heralded Ewell’s lack of fortune and ultimately proved to cost them 3 points. However, the side’s application and endeavour meant that they had far from disgraced themselves on the day, in what had been a closely contested game and arguably one in which a draw would have constituted a fair result.
