Their task was compounded by the fact that their match day squad was decimated by late drop outs and no shows, leaving them with the bare eleven.

Penalty Shoot Out: AFC Ewell 4 – TFT Southwest 2. Ewell get off to a shaky start in the shootout as Ahmad’s opening effort soars over the bar. TFT score their opener, whilst Kingshott, Clancy and Crawford successfully convert their attempts. Ransom’s strong paw repels one effort, TFT’s third penalty is skied over, before their succeed with their fourth. At 3-2, Chipperton’s confident spot kick booked Ewell’s place in the Third Round.  

 
The verdict:
 
Ewell exceeded expectations after triumphing despite only turning out with the bare eleven. They showed great resilience to recover from a goal down and rallied in spite of conceding a late equaliser.
