FULL TIME – AFC Ewell 2 vs Wanderers Reserves 2

After an uneventful period of extra time, during which Ewell failed to make their main advantage pay, the game goes to penalties. Chipperton and Harley suffer the agony of missing, whilst Clancy, Cooper and Kingshott convert successfully.

The verdict:

A dismal opening 45 minutes almost cost Ewell dearly. However, having clawed themselves back into the game, they almost salvaged what promised to be a disaster, although it was not to be. Ewell will certainly look back to this fixture and rue their inability to provide the required level of performance that would have otherwise culminated in, at the very least, a semi final place.
