Match report

Preview:

Ewell’s relationship with the League Cup over the past three seasons have been anything but a love affair, although they were hoping to address that record in their encounter with Rollers Athletic.

The Match:

RED CARD

A Rollers attacker confronts Langridge about an incident in the build up to Ewell’s third. Having grabbed the Ewell linesman around the throat, a red card inevitably follows.

68

YELLOW CARD

Ransom. Why? Dissent, apparently.

78

CHANCE

Hitch is denied after an instinctive effort from the edge of the box.

80

CHANCE

Ewell come within an inch of taking the lead as Hodge’s crashing effort thumps the crossbar, in a left-footed replay of his earlier effort.

82

GOAL

Harley. Assist: Ransom. Harley’s well-taken chipped effort from range beats the backtracking keeper from 30 yards out to extend Ewell’s lead further.

FULL TIME – Rollers Athletic ‘A’ 0 AFC Ewell 4

The verdict:

Ewell bounced back with a win following the disappointment at last week’s defeat. Without every getting started in the game, Ewell emerged with a fairly comfortable and comprehensive victory. Pleasingly, stand-in keeper Davies kept a clean sheet having answered Ewell’s emergency call following a lack of goalkeeping options.
