Clancy and Cooper get Ewell off to a great start. Heptonstall’s save makes it 2-1 after two each. Stevens and Ransom make it 4/4 for Ewell, before Heptonstall keep’s his cool and converts Ewell’s fifth penalty to seal an excellent victory.
The verdict:
After another close encounter, Ewell were visibly determined to avoid a repeat of the outcome when the sides last met. Many could be forgiven for wincing when the final whistle went after 120 minutes, yet Ewell managed to get the job done and book their place in another final.
