In what proved to be an   uneventful opening half, one moment stood out:  A. Williams almost loses his nose as the   Wanderers striker volleys him in the face, picking up a booking in the   process. Thankfully, the manager’s boyish looks were not adversely affected.

The verdict:
Ewell were far from being at their best and cannot have any complaints about the score line in the end. Once again, they did well to get back into the game after falling behind to a well-organised Wanderers side. However, they were unable to play with any real fluency and failed to test the opposition keeper for large spells of the game. Ewell hope that, come the end of the season, they will be able to regard this point as a valuable one gained, rather than 2 precious points spurned.
